Wilmington Island
Outdoor Living Space with Trex Deck | Savannah, Georgia
This very social family entertains often, hosting friends for barbecues and holidays. Gnats, direct blazing sun, rain, and cold weather were limiting their opportunities, so a three season enclosed outdoor living space was in order.
Here’s our process, beginning with the family’s previous deck:
The existing deck was removed to add additional piers and expand the deck footprint.
The new piers and expanded footprint.
Integrating the tree into the building design made the design and construction a bit more challenging than usual.
The completed outdoor living space includes a cooking area, gas fireplace, tv, skylights, ceiling fans and an additional exterior trex deck area.
The original plans were altered to accommodate the existing live oak into the outdoor living space.
A small area was added into the chase behind the t.v. for the television components. A ventless gas fireplace was installed below to allow the outdoor space to be used year around.
Custom cabinetry and granite countertops complete a kitchen area with gas stove top, smoker, refrigerator and electric outlets.
The Trex deck adds a smooth, interior floor experience and the beadboard ceiling creates a the bonus room feel. A high vaulted ceiling and skylights create a grand, airy environment.
An outdoor space made for year-round entertaining.
